A Picture's Worth A 1000 Words -
|
As a marketer I critique
everything that comes across my desk and my desktop. I seek out
other marketers works, explore websites of international companies and
check out graphic award winners from around the world.
One of the things I noticed a few years back was a real difference
between the works of Asian countries and our own here in North America.
Their
marketing materials were much more graphic, with greater emphasis on
visuals.
This makes sense if you think about it. Japan is where where Manga
(books written in a comic book format) are read by more adults than
children, and where the language itself originates
from pictographs.
But seeing benefits and pictures of people using or sampling your
product works
in any country and in any language.
Remember the old rule: people remember less than 10% of what they hear,
and 60%
of what they see.
So when it comes time to communicate your message, think about
using visuals to drive the point home.
NOTE: The gap
between our international graphic styles has narrowed over the years
but we still have a gift for the gab. |

Classic Giveaway -

Dubyts Communications
was proud to work with 13 Manitoba Pizza Hut locations on their 50th
Anniversary Cadillac Promotion from June to August.
The
excitement peaked on August 21st when 50 key winners (awarded during the
promo) showed up at the Pembina / Stafford Pizza Hut location for the
big show down!
The two hour event, live on Breakfast TV
and 92 citi FM, started with the 50 Key Winners choosing one of 50 pizza
boxes. The 20 boxes with Pepperoni Pizza's moved on. The 20 winners then chose from 20 new pizza
boxes - 10 of which had keys in them. The 10 key winners then
precariously tried them in the trunk of the Caddy . . . two lucky
ladies had keys that opened the trunk! They were greeted with yet two
more pizza boxes in the trunk - both had keys in them . . . but only one
started the car. The grand prize winner was Kim Kunz of Winnipeg!
Congratulations Kim - Enjoy your 1958 Classic Caddy!

side of the Royal Bank Building in support of Manitoban's With
Disabilities!
By day Sherrine is an awesome graphic
designer at Dubyts Com., by night this super hero rappels buildings and
donates BIG $$ for a worthwhile cause.
Congratulations
Sherrine on taking the leap of faith and raising over $1500 for
