Survey Says
|
The results are in and it looks
like the stats hold.
In the last newsletter there was a
mini survey to find out if the stats I heard at a loyalty marketing
luncheon would hold up. The speaker at the luncheon said only 25%
of companies who collect customer data actually use it to help them make
business and marketing decisions.
Our little survey was
almost bang on with 23% indicating they actually use the data they
collect.
They say information is power, but it's not
really. It's what you do with the information that gives you
power.
So, if you're collecting data, you've taken an
important first step. If you're in the 77% that doesn't use it
think how much power you'd have if you did! |
Women who WOW!
|
|
As VP of the Women Business Owners of
Manitoba and Director
of the PR & Marketing portfolio, I have had the pleasure of
providing marketing advice and design services to this incredibly
worthwhile organization since 2004.
Each
year the Women Business Owners organizes an annual event called the
Woman
Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, which I have also been involved with
in a marketing capacity. The integrated campaign includes, radio,
TV,
print, and e-marketing. On May 22, 2008, the fruits of
all our labor will be realized when we gather to celebrate the
achievements of woman entrepreneurs in Manitoba.
If you

It's all relative . .
. |
I was in a meeting recently
to brainstorm ideas for a theme and identity of an upcoming conference.
It was a typical scenario . . . lots of ideas and the chance of reaching
consensus seemed very far away. But I wasn't surprised or
concerned. Everyone has their own ideas, tastes, preferences and
perspectives based on their own personal circumstance. It's a fact --
absolutely everything we encounter is relative to where we're at in our
lives - age, gender, financial status, social circumstance, etc. etc.
When
it comes to communicating, recognizing this is the first step. The
second is to look at the situation from the perspective of the customer,
delegate, shareholder or employee -- whom ever you are trying to
reach. Throw you own perspective out the window and put yourself
in the recipients shoes, be they the size of a child or with 4" heels.
(ouch)
Only after you can look at things from the recipients
relative point of view can you begin to understand how to reach
them -- what message to communicate, how to communicate it, which
mediums to use and when to communicate it. |

Looking to make a serious impact at
your next sales presentation? That impressive closer that seals the
deal? Smartrend Supply Ltd. came to us looking for exactly that. We
considered a few different options and finally agreed on a strategically

trick.

ROMI -
|
|

When it comes to business performance ROMI is as important as
ROI. ROMI = Return on Marketing Investment and it exists to
answer three questions: 1. How much business was gained and at
what cost? 2. Is the cost too high or would more business be
gained by additional investment? 3. Does the balance of cost
and investment achieve our objectives?
Marketing metrics can get a
little (yawn) dull, but are necessary to help answer the questions
above.
The reporting from our e-marketing provider is excellent to
measure response -- not to be confused with results. The stats from our
first e-newsletter showed us: - There were 12 bounces
which we were easily able to resolve - No "Spam Reports" (whew) - A 64.7% "Open
Rate" (way higher than average!) -
A 19.7% "Click Through" rate (could
be better) - And 1.3% "Forwarded" the e-news (Gotta get this one up, so feel free to
forward this on!)
And while
response (opens and click throughs) were good, we also recorded
immediate results -- aka, SALES,
as a result of the newsletter.
If you're interested in more
information about ROMI or our E-marketing tools contact us at info@dubytscom.com or visit

Fun and Philanthropy! -
|

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2008
Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Winnipeg puts FUN into Philanthropy at its
annual fundraiser, Bowl For Kids Sake. And we have had tons of fun
working with Big Brothers Big Sisters for the past 2-years on projects
like their quarterly newsletter, Annual Report, Empowering Our Little
Sisters (with Susan Aglukark), Ototema and the Big Smiles Collection
Crew.
We are thrilled to be a Marketing Sponsor for the second
year in a row for the Bowl for Kids Sake event which takes place at
Academy Uptown Bowling Lanes on, Saturday, February 23, 2008.
We're
huge fans of the organization and its cause and challenge everyone who
receives this newsletter to get involved in this amazing event as a
supporter, sponsor, bowler or volunteer. Every penny raised stays in
Winnipeg and helps to enrich the life of young people who otherwise
would not have the opportunity to benefit from a mentor in their life.
